HAPPY- that's what I think of when I look at this beautiful family of three. They are so happy, so full of JOY, and love each other so much. They make me smile, just looking at their photos again. Was such a pleasure to photograph them.

I'm a sucker for daddy/daughter pics...

OK, I'm really pathetic at titles. I'm just drawing a big fat blank. How many different ways can I use about 5 words to describe a series of pretty photos of beautiful families. Seriously. Anyway, here's one of my fave families... I do love when my friends sign up for mini sessions. It's tons of fun.

If you follow me on Facebook, you'll have seen the long commentary I wrote about this photo. The short version is, this photo makes me emotional. Weepy. Overwhelmed. This little guy had a traumatic birth experience, and both he and his mama very nearly lost their lives. And here he is, turning a year old. God's provision and protection of my friend and her son- well, this photo sends me over the edge every single time.

I sure do love big sister too.

I love shooting with a Lensbaby, though I haven't played with mine in maybe a year. I was inspired the other day to pull it from the shelf and blow the dust off it. I was not disappointed. It's tricky to work with, but oh so worth it. I love the dream-like quality it gives your images.

One morning last week, I woke Elizabeth up with my usual, "How did you sleep last night?" She answered, "I just wanted one more dream." Oh, sister, do I know that feeling.
