About Sarah Craig

Hi!  I'm Sarah Craig.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by my website.  If you've landed on this page, maybe you'd like to know a tiny bit more about the photographer behind Fish Lips Photography.  I'm a natural light photographer in Houston, Texas.  I love shooting maternity, newborns, babies, children, and families.  I was born and raised in Mississippi and majored in music and psychology at Mississippi College.  I headed to Texas immediately after graduation for seminary, where I received an M.Div.  In Austin I met & fell in love with a Longhorn, and we've been married 8 years now.  I've been a youth minister, a social work grad student at the University of Texas, and an art teacher at a private school.  The path has been a winding one- this path to find the work I really love and feel called to do.  I grew up in a very artistic family, but never claimed that calling to art as my own until the last few years.  There is nothing like walking away from a photo shoot, having spent an hour capturing light, color, and texture, along with love, connection, and fleeting moments.  It feels downright magical, and absolutely fills my soul with joy.  I have two daughters of my own and know all too well how fast this all goes by.  It is a privilege to get to capture that in print for the families I work with.

I'm Ryan's wife, and mama to Elizabeth and Eva.  I love reading, October, red wine, Pinterest, traveling, and Jesus.  Not necessarily in that order.  I adore Harry Potter & my latest obsession is Downton Abbey.  I post about our little family plenty- in between all my clients' photo shoots- so you can get to know me a whole lot better over on the blog.  See ya there!
